1. Scope and Contact
This policy explains how FloraBench handles information when you use its plant identification, care-journal, light-reading, voice-note, and plant-question features. For privacy questions or requests, email gaom8053@126.com.
2. Information Used
FloraBench may process plant profile details, nicknames, avatar and plant images, identification images, care and light records, questions and answers, settings, and app-session information. When you choose them, the app also processes camera images and microphone recordings. Apple Speech processes a recording to produce a transcript.
The app may maintain a local session marker and, where its service-backed experience is used, authentication tokens, user information, device/system details, and risk or diagnostic information required to operate and protect that service.
3. AI Processing and Providers
FloraBench uses OpenRouter to route AI requests to configured model providers. The configured fallback models include models from Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta.
- Identification sends a compressed version of the selected image and the selected subject type.
- Voice-note extraction sends the Apple Speech transcript, not the audio recording, to OpenRouter.
- Plant Q&A sends your question and relevant profile context, which may include a plant name, scientific name, category, light needs, latest light reading, and recent care summaries.
OpenRouter and the selected downstream provider process requests under their respective terms and privacy policies. Data-retention and model-improvement practices may vary by selected model and provider; please also review the applicable provider policies.
4. Data Processing and Retention
Plant profiles, journals, settings, nicknames, and saved media are retained on your device until you delete individual content, use Delete account, or remove applicable app data. FloraBench also keeps a cloud account identifier, a one-way hash derived from the app's device identifier, an optional display name, and account timestamps so it can create and validate sessions. Temporary voice recordings are deleted after transcription completes or fails. AI request content passes through the FloraBench service to OpenRouter and a routed model provider for the requested result; their retention is governed by their policies.
Signing out clears the session token but intentionally leaves plant records on the device and the cloud account active. Delete account removes the cloud account as well as local app content. Deleting the app normally removes its local sandbox, but does not by itself delete the cloud account or guarantee deletion of information an AI service provider may retain.
5. Permissions and Choices
Camera access supports identification, avatar photos, and approximate light readings. Microphone and speech-recognition access support dictated care notes. Photo selection uses Apple's system picker. You may deny optional permissions and, where supported, use a library image, enter lux manually, or record care details manually. FloraBench does not display third-party advertising in its plant-care features.
6. Sharing and Security
Information is shared only as needed with Apple services used by iOS, OpenRouter and its routed model providers, and service infrastructure required for requested features. Text sharing occurs only when you invoke the iOS share sheet. FloraBench does not provide public posting or user-to-user chat, and does not sell your plant-journal content.
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no network transmission or storage system is completely secure. Avoid entering secrets or sensitive personal information in plant notes or AI questions.
7. Your Rights and Deletion
You may edit or delete individual plants and journal entries in the app. To remove the FloraBench cloud account together with local plants, records, saved images, profile information, and settings, open Bench > Settings > Delete account, acknowledge the warning, type COMPOST, and confirm. The app must be online to complete this request. For other access, correction, deletion, or privacy requests involving service data, contact gaom8053@126.com. Rights vary by location.
8. Children and Changes
FloraBench is a general-audience plant-care tool and is not designed to collect children's information publicly. A parent or guardian may contact us about a child's information. We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change and will revise the date shown above.
